Residents celebrate 60th Wedding Anniversary

Rachael & Noel Browne celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on Thursday 10th March 2011 as well as Noel Browne's 90th Birthday. Rachael & Noel invited all residents to join in the celebrations with Champagne on arrival; a grand buffet made by our Chef's and served by the Hospitality team.

Paul took up the challenge of Village Manager at Richmond Northampton in May 2009 and oversees the quality of service delivery in our Independent and Assisted Living apartments and our registered Nursing Care Home. Working with external partners and our skilled and dedicated teams of staff, he aims to deliver person centred and varied services to the residents and their families of the highest quality. At Richmond Northampton we are passionate about delivering the best within a beautiful yet comfortable setting. Anything that is important to our residents and staff is important to Paul and he looks forward to welcoming you.

Sherrill joined Richmond Northampton in May 2009 as the Registered Domiciliary Manager and Deputy Village Manager then in April 2010 she added to that by becoming the Registered Manager of the Nursing Home as well. Sherrill help to support the Village Manager to ensure high quality delivery of services to our residents and in particular I oversee the running of the care services ensuring that we meet and exceed CQC standards and regulations.

Mandy’s role since she started working for Richmond Northampton in October 2007 prior to the village opening, is that of Administrator. As the village has grown, the Administrator role has been divided and she is now solely responsible for the HR administration side of the department. This includes payroll - the inputting of weekly hours onto the system and sending reports to Head Office and the Village Manager. She is also responsible for the smooth running of reception and ensuring that the staff who carry out this role deal with any queries and calls in a friendly and professional manner. Mandy enjoys working at Richmond Northampton very much and has enjoyed watching the village grow and develop and she value the friendship of all who work and live there!

Janette Russell – Finance Administrator


Janette joined Richmond Northampton in early 2010 and has assumed responsibility for all financial aspects of administration at the village. This includes dealing with invoicing of services provided to the village, ensuring they are all entered onto the accounting system. Janette also deals with all aspects of invoicing for residents within the village. She is available to discuss any financial issues with residents and their families.

Lesley Mason – Senior Village Adviser at Richmond Northampton

Lesley’s role as Senior Village Adviser is to promote the lifestyle of the village through networking within the local/wider community in order to encourage enquiries about our Assisted Living/Village apartments and Care home. She also arranges respite breaks in both our Assisted living apartments and our Care home, some people have been back every year since we opened in 2007, Lesley thinks they enjoy catching up with the staff and other residents!! If you are not sure that “village life” is for you Lesley can arrange for you to stay in one of Northampton’s apartments for a week or two so that you could really experience what it would be like to live there permanently. Lesley started at Richmond Northampton during the construction phase some 4 years ago so is one of the “oldest” or should I say “most experienced” members of staff here.

Christopher Rayatt-Howard – Social and Recreational Therapist at Richmond Northampton

Christopher has worked at Richmond Northampton from the beginning firstly in Domiciliary care and now activities. It has been great to meet the first ever residents and then to watch the village grow into the thriving village we have today. Christopher’s role is to organise the activities for the independent Village apartments and the assisted living apartments and to oversee the care home activities. He encourages everyone to participate in the busy activities schedule on a daily basis. He promotes the activities with residents, friends and family and he ensures that he has full knowledge of the resident’s likes, dislikes, interests and abilities.

Sharon Barton – Hotel Services Manager at Richmond Northampton

Sharon Barton – Hotel Services Manager


Sharon’s role is to oversee the smooth running of housekeeping, the restaurant and the coffee shop. Her everyday tasks are to liaise with staff and residents to maintain a first class standard, to ensure the residents have all provisions as needed and have a first class dining experience every day. The village is kept to a high standard by the housekeeping staff and are on hand seven days a week. Sharon works closely with all heads of department to continue a first class service and help activities organiser Christopher Rayatt-Howard to provide a choice of activities, supper club, Quiz nights and other events.

Jakub Belwon – Head Chef


Jakub is responsible for the day to day running and management of the busy professional standard kitchen which services the Richmond restaurant, Care home Restaurant and Memory Lane Community, the café and room service delivery. It involves planning and preparing balanced, nutritious menus for residents (including lunch, evening meals and light options) using high quality fresh produce, and also catering for private dining functions and events. He works with a team of Assistant Chefs and the Hotel Service Manager who support me in the role in order that we can maintain quality and delivery at all times.

Ray has worked at Richmond Northampton since January 2009 and oversees the smooth running of the Maintenance department. On a daily basis he is involved with residents and staff to maintain the village to the high standards that are expected from the residents. In Ray’s department he also oversees the Gardener and Village grounds, The Driver and transport requests. Ray has an excellent friendly team that are always willing to help residents and staff when needed, they aim to provide an excellent service with peace of mind for the residents and family knowing they are always here for them.

Nick Ives – Head Gardener


Nick is Head Gardener at Richmond Northampton, it is his responsibility to ensure that the gardens are well maintained and look stunning at all times. He decides what should be planted in which areas, arranges deliveries of gardening supplies, and carries out lawn maintenance. Richmond Northampton also have allotment space close to the village and Nick has been actively involved in preparing the ground and assisting the residents in deciding what should be planted and maintaining the planting through to production of vegetables.
