Wood Grange wins national award

Our Activities Co-ordinator, Sandra Baker was awarded Barchester Activities Coordinator 2009 by TV's Fiona Phillips at the third annual Celebrating Amazing Care Awards in London.

The glittering awards ceremony took place on Thursday 25th June at the Thistle Hotel Marble Arch.

Sandra was selected from hundreds of nominees for her achievements in creating diverse and interesting activities in the home.

The annual Celebrating Amazing Care Awards aim to celebrate the incredibly high standards of care the staff at Barchester homes across the UK provide to their residents by recognising staff that have gone the extra mile to make a special difference to residents' lives.

Helen O'Leary, General Manager of Wood Grange said: "I am so proud of Sandra and it's a great testament to her enthusiasm and commitment"

Tim Hammond, Managing Director of Barchester said: "I was truly humbled by the energy and dedication of all the staff at the awards ceremony. At Barchester we aim to celebrate life and part of that is celebrating the achievements of our staff."
