Every year all the residents and staff of The Dales care home celebrate Pink Day - a day specifically assigned to breast cancer awareness. All the staff and the residents dress up in pink for the day much to the amusement of many of the male residents who feel that Pink is just not their colour! Lawrence looks very nervous in the picture as two of our long standing staff members, carer, Dawn Akrigg, and Team Leader, Gill Harper, wave their Pink feather boas at him!. The residents love to see what Pink surprises they are going to get to eat as the Chefs make everything pink for the day. All relatives, staff and visitors to the home helped to make £125.00 on the day, which was sent to breast cancer awareness. The Dales, in its 22nd year, are hoping to beat that sum this year.
