Stamford Bridge Beaumont care home in York held a forties fete with a war time theme last month.

Staff, residents, relatives and those living in the local area were welcomed by staff dressed in Army uniforms and a World War II Army jeep was also driving around.

There was a programme of musical entertainment featuring hits from the decade, as well as strawberry cream teas in the home's new licensed bar-lounge.

Fete-goers also got to try their luck at the tombola and spoil themselves at the cake stand.

The home had further cause to celebrate during June with their Staff Award Ceremony.

It celebrated the achievements on the home's staff over the last 12 months.

Special awards were given to three care assistants who completed the Alzheimer's Society's Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow programme, which involved taking an exam accredited by the Alzheimer's Society.

All employees were invited to the awards ceremony including kitchen, cleaning and ancillary staff.

Both events held at the home were a great success of which those involved were very proud.ADNFCR-504-ID-18197669-ADNFCR
