Elvis was in the building on Wednesday 27th August, as Plas-Y-Dderwen Care Home became a paradise - Hawaiian Style!
Even though the weather looked rather less than Hawaiian outside, staff and residents enjoyed the totally tropical experience inside as the Teifi lounge was transformed into a Pacific island with palm trees and floral garlands everywhere.
Residents and staff got in to the spirit and were all sporting floral leis around their necks and there were even a few island goers wearing grass skirts!
Elvis impersonator, Ivor Wilson, gave renditions of all the classics, including, ‘Blue Hawaii' of course, which got everyone into that hip swinging and hula dancing mood.
Brenda, Activities Co-ordinator at Plas-Y-Dderwen said, ‘Seeing as the Sun turned into a recluse this summer the residents wanted to create their own sunshine and suggested a fun packed beach party. Everyone loves dressing up and who doesn't like a little bit of Elvis, we just knew we all would have a fabulous time!'
