Barchester Care Awards 2007
08/03/2007
The Barchester Care Awards is an annual event to promote excellence right across the spectrum of care in the homes and hospitals of Barchester Healthcare. Almost 400 Barchester staff throughout the UK were nominated in this prestigious contest for the contributions they make to the care and well-being of residents under the following six categories: Best Registered Nurse, Care Services Innovator, Barchester Home Trainer, Best Person-Centred/Memory Lane Innovator, Best Activities Co-ordinator and Barchester Carer of the Year. After a rigorous selection process, five finalists for each category had to face a panel of judges before being invited to a spectacular awards dinner in London. Managing Director, Tim Hammond and judges from the operations board of Barchester Healthcare were joined by GMTV presenter Fiona Phillips to present awards to the six winners. Well done from all of us! Person-Centred/Memory Lane Innovator Award David Thornton at North Park won the Barchester Person-Centered/Memory Lane Innovator Award. This award recognises an individual or team who provides exceptional person-centred care to residents living with dementia within Barchester’s Memory Lane communities.
