Laurel Bank Celebrates life Wwith an ‘Art Deco Mor

Staff and residents at Laurel Bank Care Home held a special Art Deco Morecambe themed event to mark the home's entry into a national Chef and activities competition to celebrate great food and the amazing lives of their residents. The theme for this year's competition is ‘Celebrating Life' to reflect the amazing lives of all Barchester's residents and it's up to each home to interpret the theme as they wish. The Chef and activities team asked the residents about their favourite memories and decided to theme the event around Morecambe's Art Deco buildings - Central Pier, The Super Swimming Stadium and, of course, the Midland Hotel. The special event at the Care Home saw residents and staff, dressed in 30's style fashion, take part in pier games as well as glamorous granny and knobbly knees competitions.
