Laurel Bank weeds out the competition to enter se

Laurel Bank is delighted to have been selected to go through to the semi-final stage of the national Barchester in Bloom gardening competition. Infact - as it has reached the semis in three categories - it could even be a clean sweep for the care home! The categories in which they have been recognised are: Best Sensory Garden / Best Residents Project and Best Creative Project. The competition, now in its fourth year, aims to promote the imaginative planting of flowers, trees and shrubs in the gardens of its homes to create positive environments for their residents and relatives to enjoy. ‘This really is testimony to all the hard work which both our staff and residents have undertaken in order to get our gardens looking so lovely. However it has also been an enormous amount of fun for us all too!' The green-fingered staff and residents of Laurel Bank have been competing against 170 Barchester homes across the UK, and have now been whittled down to one of 26 semi-finalist homes.
