Overview
Barchester and the NHS work in partnership to ensure that The Lakelands Unit supports older people with dementia in a stimulating and empathetic environment. This unique nurse led assessment service utilises both conventional and complementary therapies to promote positive mental health and a re-introduction to local community services.
Services and facilities
The Lakelands has a nurse led service, one of the few in the country. At the Lakelands we believe in the use of Reiki, Aromatherapy, massage and other complementary therapies, which have significantly reduced the use of medication for this client group.
