Kenwyn Host Olymic Games

Kenwyn Care Home in Truro is hosting its own Olympic games over this week and next. Our opening ceremony on Monday saw the torch being taken by residents around all four units in the home ending up in the Eden Room for a reception of Bucks Fizz and the presentation of competitor's tee shirts.

Each unit in the home has a team for the daily events which include basketball, arm chair hand diving, javelin darts throwing, and wheelchair fancy dress relay. The basketball event was yesterday won by Mr Ben Ridgwell of Tresco Unit who currently lead the medal table.

On Wednesday next week the closing ceremony will kick off with a Chinese banquet in our newly refurbished dining room, followed by presentation of the medals and more than likely a bit more fizz!
