First for Dementia Care
23/08/2007
Four senior care assistants at Arbour Court, Kelly Rhodes, Karen Carling, Jenny Holmes and Joyce Elderkin are the first in Britain to be awarded an NVQ level 3 in Dementia Care. After months of lectures, workshops and work in practice their commitment and dedication is paying dividends. Barchester Healthcare is currently the only organisation that offers an NVQ in Dementia Care and General Manager Sue O\'Hara at Arbour Court said: “Now all their hard work and dedication has paid off and we are all very proud of them.\" Not ending their success there, these four students then went on to gain the Barchester Academy Practitioners Award - a qualification which enables staff to assess apprentices in key skills.
