School children visit Ashminster

A group of school children brought the spirit of Christmas to life at the Ashminster care home when they visited yesterday.

The pupils, from Year 6 at Willesborough High School, brought festive cheer to residents when they performed their Christmas carol service for them.

Accompanied by teacher Miss Matthews on the keyboard, the children "sang their hearts out" while the residents joined in with their renditions of Christmas classics.

The sing-a-long was followed by refreshments which gave the children a chance to chat with their audience.

Tom, a resident at the home, said: "It was lovely to see the children, it took me back in time."

All residents and staff thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

Ashminister House is located in the town of Ashford near Kent and has been providing care to residents since 1995.
